Smile in the Rain

A plant that is thirsty Will cause it's leaves to become crisp and dry They lose their beautiful color Then fall to the ground and die. Yet when the storms of rain come The plant gets nourished and restored It finds new life and grows And becomes more beautiful than before. Just as the plant For when the Lord wants us to grow He allows the storms of rain to come So that we might change into a person we never dreamed, could be so. If we could just see the storms as good We could smile because we know We realize that we are being changed And are being caused to grow. Things that once bothered us We seem to now ignore We find a new strength And are not shoved to the floor. Day and night Are not in our control But we learn to adapt And with the darkness and light, roll. Sure we like the sun But darkness will each day prevail It is all for a reason And will give us new strength to sail. So the storms of rain will come No matter what we do If we can learn to smile It will be much easier for us to go through. Though we suffer lots of pain We need to learn to smile in the rain As things will always change And we will live once again. We will be different and stronger than before We now will be able Of life, to take on so much more. Smile in the rain With great expectation It is for our growth And will bring new jubilation.
