Hard to Grasp
by PamFord Davis

"And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling, and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God (2 Corinthians 2:1-5 NAS)."

Though it might be hard to grasp, the words come from the Apostle Paul.

Paul, lacking in the ability to convey God's message?

The writer of much of our New Testament being weak, fearful and trembling?

Though hard to comprehend, this is what he wrote under the direction of the Holy Spirit.

Do not miss his strength in weakness "For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified."

That crucifixion of Christ, linked with the message of His resurrection, is the good news of salvation.

"that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation (Romans 10:9-10 NAS)."
