Dream Home
by PamFord Davis

If you've ever built a new home, you know how exciting that can be.

Although we have been married for nearly 50 years and have lived from coast-to-coast in America, we have only had one house built for us. Excitement built to a fevered pitch as a crew of carpenters built our dream home. Though no colonial mansion, it was spectacular to me. The Creator needs no man-made house to fulfill a dream.

"Heaven is My throne,
and earth My footstool.
What sort of house will you build for Me?
says the Lord,
or what is My resting place?
Did not My hand make all these things (Acts 7:49-50 HCS)?"

Yet, God knows our need to gather for public worship. Jesus, with righteous anger acted against abuses in God's house, the temple in Jerusalem

"Jesus went into the temple complex and drove out all those buying and selling in the temple. He overturned the money changers' tables and the chairs of those selling doves. And He said to them, 'It is written, My house will be called a house of prayer. But you are making it a den of thieves (Matthew 21:12-13 HCS)!"
