HUSBANDS LOVE YOUR WIVES
by Lewis E. Thomas

Jesus commanded us Husband's to love our wives the way He loves His Church!
Time for us to come down off our high and lofty perch!

How many times have we shot cutting words into our wife's heart?
How many times have we used profanity to hurt her and tear her apart?

How many of us have hit/struck our wives in our fit of rage?
How many of us husbands deserve to be in a cage?

How many times have we refused to lay down bad habits/addictions that make her grieve?
How many times do we sit "watching" her work and refusing to "roll up our" sleeves?

How many times have we shirked our duty to help her with the kids?
When it was all she could do just to keep from blowing her lid?

How many times has she lane in bed beside us at night crying within?
Because of our words and abuse and our love affair with sin?

How many scars have we cut deep into her heart and her soul?
How many times have we failed to fulfill a loving husband's roll!?

How many times will we tell her we love her with nary one action to prove it?
When will we see that great beam in our own eye and decide to remove it?

"How much longer can she endure our selfisness and our abuse?"
"Before she walks out our door forever and cuts us loose?"

Ephesians 5:25 KJV
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Ephesians 5:28-33 KJV
So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. [29] For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: [30] For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. [31] For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. [32] This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. [33] Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
