Gratitude Is A Good Attitude
by Olawale Ogunsola

"Thank You Jesus Christ.
Have you said it today?"
The above are the words boldly written on a chart in many Christian homes. They have deep meanings and calls for serious meditation. For any serious mind, it is worthy of acting on considering the thought provoking question attached to the first sentence.

This brings to mind the instruction given by Jesus to ten lepers who begged Him to be healed and the action of one of them. He said,
"Go, show yourselves to the priests." Luke 17:14c
These lepers obeyed Him and went to the office of the Priests. On their way, their desires were met because they were cleaned from their leprosy. One interesting thing concerned by this writer is the action taken by the minority member of the group of ten.

What was it?

"And one of them,, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face
at His(Jesus) feet, giving Him thanks." verse 15.
This lone thanks giver singled himself out for uncommon recognition from the Lord. Jesus revealed the importance of Thanksgiving after a successful obedience to the word of God thus,
"Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?
Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?" verses 17-18.

This is one of the commonest attitude of God's people, ingratitude. Yet the Lord desires an attitude of gratitude from all His people. He expects all to "in everything give thanks." (1Thess.5:18) because this is His will. The Lord always appreciates a heart that gives thanks. An attitude of gratitude is always noted and commendable. After receiving his healing and returning to give thanks, his miracle healing was confirmed by Jesus saying,
"Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well." verse 18.

An attitude of gratitude is a demonstration of faith. Be grateful! Demonstrate your faith by your attitude of gratitude.

Are you willing to obtain something from the Lord or man? Do you desire it? Did you seek the face of the Lord concerning it? Has He given you any instructions on the steps He wants you to take? Have you obeyed Him? If you do, the benefits will manifest. As soon as you notice a positive change as an answer, what should follow is "Gratitude!" Be like the man after the heart of God, David, who, with the whole of his heart, declared,
"O Lord my God, I will give thanks
to You forever." Psalm 3.:12b
Any attitude, good or bad can be cultivated. If you are not used to giving thanks, begin today.. Do it every hour and each day. You will soon be able to give thanks to God forever. Gratitude Is a very good attitude, cultivate it.
Let me reiterate it here that Gratitude must be expressed to man also. As the Lord recognizes it, man also appreciates it. Therefore, for every kindness you receive from anyone, do not forget to say, "Thank you!" This will be a magnet that will attract more kindness.
Stay blessed and rapturable because the Lord is comingsoon.
