In Silent Wonder
by Deborah Ann Belka

Sometimes in silent wonder,
I stand truly amazed . . .
as I stare upon the earth
and all that God has made.

I gasp at the beauty,
of the sun on the rise
I sigh at its splendor
as it dips into the skies.

I watch the ocean's wave,
gently roll to the shore
I listen to the restful hush
right before it starts to roar.

I hear the melody of life,
in the songs a bird sings
when all is calm and still
I can even hear its wings.

I see the hills and dells,
show off their golden covers
before unfolding their buds
of wildflowers and clover.

Sometimes I'm amazed,
as I stand in silent wonder
and I thank God for letting me
gaze on all of His splendor!

the glory of God;
and the firmament
sheweth his handywork."
