The Smudge
by PamFord Davis

An artist finished his masterpiece portrait. As he rested from his work, he was saddened by the cunning of the enemy. The assailant had smudged the image.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23 KJV)."

But, it was just a 'smudge'

"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all (James 2:10 KJV)."

He had a plan

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23 KJV)."

The creator of the masterpiece sent his Son.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved (John 3:16-17 KJV).

The Son shed his light on the portrait; he removed the smudge!

"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin (1 John 1:7 KJV)."

I perceive only a smidgen of all the Creator has prepared for his people.

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him (1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV)."
