A Tree from Lebanon
by Richard L. Provencher

A Tree from Lebanon

became a cross
as an accompaniment
for our Lord Jesus --

its hardness built for strength,
to hold a Saviour
of the world.

He did not die in vain.
His glory transcended the smell
of death such punishment
inflicted upon His body.

He died for our sins.
Then arose.
