Grave Danger
by PamFord Davis

'There's a bomb in your building. You'd better get out.'

My husband was all alone inside a radio station. He frequently got phone calls by night owls requesting their favorite records. Many other callers were lonely and just needed someone to talk to. If he was busy, the answering machine recorded messages. Imagine his fright to hear a man calmly say there was a bomb inside the station.

It did get his attention. Yet, he thought it was just a prank.

'I'm not kidding. There is a bomb in your building.'

That was a follow up call.

It has been over forty-five years since those eerie phone calls. There was no bomb; my husband did not leave the building. Bravery or discernment?

God is all knowing. He is able to thwart real attacks against his children.

"So when Paul's sister's son heard of their ambush, he went and entered the barracks and told Paul (Acts 23:16 NKJV)

Paul was in grave danger. His nephew carried the message to a high ranking military official.

"And he said, "The Jews have agreed to ask that you bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as though they were going to inquire more fully about him. But do not yield to them, for more than forty of them lie in wait for him, men who have bound themselves by an oath that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him; and now they are ready, waiting for the promise from you (Acts 23:20-21 NKJV)."

The murder of Paul was averted.
