And So It Was
by PamFord Davis

God's word speaks directly to each of us.

The problem arises when we fail to listen.

When hearing some sermons, I have felt that some were meant just for me. At other times, I've had a strong impression that particular messages were for someone I knew.

If a scripture passage contains prophecy, we trust God to hit his target.

The Psalmist was directed by the Holy Spirit. As I read this passage, I thought of Apostle Paul's conversion and calling

"Let Your mercies come also to me, O Lord
Your salvation according to Your word.
So shall I have an answer for him who reproaches me,
For I trust in Your word.
And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth,
For I have hoped in Your ordinances.
So shall I keep Your law continually,
Forever and ever.
And I will walk at liberty,
For I seek Your precepts.
I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings,
And will not be ashamed. [*emphasis mine]
And I will delight myself in Your commandments,
Which I love.
My hands also I will lift up to Your commandments,
Which I love,
And I will meditate on Your statutes (Psalm 119:41-48 NKJV)."

And so it was

"But the Lord said to him, 'Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel (Acts 9:15 NKJV)."
