All I'll Ever Be Is Me
by Iris Brooks

I'm not trying to be someone I can never be
God above is my Creator, all I'll ever be is me
People will not change me though I do things differently
God above is my Creator, all I'll ever be is me

So I run through fields of daisies and like pretty butterflies
I'm in love with country music and Smoky Mountain highs
If I'm your friend, it is forever, I stand up for what is right
I'm forever chasing rainbows when the world sees none in sight

What if purple is my passion, yet my heart is often blue
Every day I count my blessings and believe in dreams come true
Sometimes I get a thrill when I dare to take a chance
I don't believe in violence and I'm a sucker for romance

Sometimes I like to dress up and rent a limousine
Other times I go out dancing in my faded denim jeans
Nobody understands me and I can't predict myself
But if it was God who made me, why should I be somebody else

No, I'm not trying to be someone I can never be
God above is my Creator, all I'll ever be is me
People will not change me though I do things differently
God above is my Creator, all I'll ever be is me

Note: God made us all uniquely. Don't let anyone change who you are inside. Live life from what you truly feel in your heart. No one to impress. Be the person God made you to be.
