God's Birthday Gift

Birthdays are a happy time
for fun and food and gifts.
A time for looking back on life
and seeing how God uplifts.

Reflecting on our Fathers love
His watch-care and His power,
What can we give the Lord above
for blessings as a shower?

We can't give God a birthday gift
He was there at times formation.
A contrite, broken heart we'll pledge
at each birthday celebration.
