The Greatest Love of All
by Karen White

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

One of the fruits of the spirit is love. We hear the word a lot; we love pizza, a favorite book, movie, or song, we love family, friends, and stars but do we love these things or just like them a lot?

There is a difference. I love my children, but the feeling I have for them is not the same as the one I have for pizza. Although, pizza is a favorite food of mine it cannot compare to my children.
Your parents love you and some day when you are older you will meet someone, fall in love and get married. But even your parents and future spouse will not love you as much as God does.
God loves you so much that He sent His son, Jesus to Earth to die in your place. You see we have all sinned; maybe told an untruth, disobeyed our parents, and or had an evil thought. But when Jesus was on the cross all our sins became His and He died so we would not have to experience death. Yes, if we live long enough our bodies may give out and die but our spirit, if we are His child, will go to heaven to live forever with Jesus.

Easter is just around the corner and while it is fun to hide eggs and all the other fun activities, please remember that Easter is the time we remember Jesus' death and resurrection. His died upon the cross for you and that is the greatest love of all.

Dear Lord, thank You for sending Your son to die for my sins. In Jesus's name, amen.
