Agape Love - True Story
by Iris Brooks For their kindly acts of serving "Agape love" is so deserving Of my thanks and daily gratitude They reached out and took my hand When things were hard to understand Exemplified the meaning of Christian attitude Always doing unto others As you'd have done unto you We're sisters and we're brothers God's goodness, strong and true Thanks to them a light is burning There is shelter from the cold Each and every day I'm learning Beauty lives within the soul They saw my hurt and tragedy They felt my every pain Yet freely walked beside me Through the valleys and the rain Put food upon my table Things the world could not provide They showed me God is able To wipe away the tears I've cried Yes, their kindly acts of serving Come to those in dark despair Agape Love is so deserving Through it all God's name they share They have my thanks and gratitude I praise the Lord above I found a Christian attitude When I found "Agape Love" Agape Outreach, Agape Love.... It's those in need they're always thinking of They preach The word, God's in control No circumstance, He can't uphold Somehow they've brightened up my day Took the time to kneel and pray I thank the good Lord up above For Compassion of Agape Love I thank God for this outreach ministry and my sister in Christ who operated it. Indeed, their kindly acts of serving and unconditional love for both God and fellow man exhibit a Christian attitude. When I lived nearby, I was a member this loving church. I also went on a 9 day mission trip to New Laredo, Mexico in 2004. Every morning we'd cross the border and go into poverty-stricken areas where people had little food, clothing, and lacked basic necessities. Indoor plumbing was a rarity. But even in their great affliction they had a hunger for the Lord. They thirsted for the Living Water that freely flows from the fountain of God. While there, we provided a soup kitchen where some people walked hours or even the entire day for one good nourishing meal. They were so thankful for the clothing, shoes and toys we offered them. Both the children and adults were so humble. The children marveled at the toys as they were not overloaded with expensive toys as many children seem to be. We visited an orphanage where we saw precious children without a real family. Many were dropped off as baby girls and would remain there until age of 18. They would then be on their own to face a cruel world who will try to enslave them. Hundreds sat on their rickety rooftops as we held revival services outdoors each night. Many souls were saved through the Word... Back in the USA this ministry reaches out to help the poor, sick, homeless, and downtrodden. They help the less fortunate with food, clothing, and counseling on a regular basis. On Thanksgiving and Christmas they feed hundreds of families. And hallelujah, everything they do is always without judging others and with love of Jesus. In 2006, when my husband and I were originally poisoned and homeless, having to abandon everything we owned, they reached out to us. We were so sick. It was very cold, we were on a very limited income and sometimes hungry. The Pastor took us in and actually let us live in a Sunday School Room within the church sanctuary building. They brought in blankets, pillows, air mattresses, a heater and a radio. We lived there for 2 months and were shown so much love and compassion. Agape Love (God's unconditional love) meant so much to us. Their help played a big part in saving our lives. God also upheld us with divine strength from on high. "Agape Love" is a song (both music and lyrics) we did to honor their ministry. Praise the Lord and may God bless this Pastor, a wonderful Christian lady and dear friend with a heart of gold. My precious husband was called home on August 28, 2015 but he dearly loved and appreciated the Christ-like love of this ministry and our dear friend, Pastor Margaret. Christian author, poet, musician and songwriter, I co-wrote for 16 years with my now late husband. We became advocates in regards to educating the public on environmental illnesses after both being diagnosed with toxic mold poisoning in late 2005. www.survivingyellowrain.blogspot.com Article Source: http://www.faithwriters.com |
