Give Your Roses To The Living
by Iris Brooks

Give your roses to the living
So they will know that you are giving
Tell them you love them, no need to wait
Who knows - tomorrow - may be too late

I had some kind words
I always meant to say
Now my friend will never hear them
For my friend has gone away

So many good intentions
And things I meant to do
To bless someone who was in need
But I never followed through

I meant to share a happy song
Yet I kept it in my heart
I could have helped someone along
Who was walking in the dark

But I said I've got tomorrow
There will be another chance
To bring joy to one in sorrow
To make their life a dance

But we're not assured the sunrise
Nor if the evening sun will set
Give your gifts of love today
Or else you may regret

Give your roses to the living
So they will know that you are giving
Tell them you love them, no need to wait
Who knows - tomorrow - may be too late

If there's someone in your life you care about, someone you love and appreciate, tell them what's in your heart while you still can. I'd rather have one rose, one smile, one hug, one kiss, one thank you, one I love you today than a church full of roses when I'm gone.
