Have You Heard?
by PamFord Davis

'Well, I declare!'

I visualize an aging woman; prim, proper and plump, she peers over wire-framed eyeglasses.

Hearing juicy gossip she is shocked at the news.

Have you heard the news?

It's shocking!

"Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:20-21 NKJV)."

'Well, I declare!'

Do I? Do I declare the gospel?

Am I sharing the good news?

I fail miserably.

There is an urgent need.

I have a divine appointment.

"Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you (Luke 8:39a NKJV)."

It is a declaration of dependence. I depend upon His saving work.

"And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them (John 17:26 NKJV)."
