Help Me, Lord
by PamFord Davis

I admit it.

I need help.

I cannot walk alone.

Help me, LORD.

"I lift my eyes toward the mountains.
Where will my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not allow your foot to slip;
your Protector will not slumber.
Indeed, the Protector of Israel
does not slumber or sleep (Psalm 121:1-4 HCSB)."

I am not a tower of strength.

I run to God. He is my helper.

"God is our refuge and strength,
a helper who is always found
in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1 HCSB)."

Just like Peter, I'd sink without the help of my Savior.

"But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid. And beginning to sink he cried out, 'Lord, save me!'

Immediately Jesus reached out His hand, caught hold of him, and said to him, 'You of little faith, why did you doubt? (Matthew 14:30-31 HCSB)."

Why do I hesitate?

He extends His helping hand.
