Wake Up Reminder
by PamFord Davis

Wake up!

Sorry for the rude awakening. Sometimes you and I need a jolt to wake us up from the humdrums.

Wake up!

Apostle Peter gave the church a wakeup call.

"I consider it right, as long as I am in this bodily tent,to wake you up with a reminder, knowing that I will soon lay aside my tent, as our Lord Jesus Christ has also shown me. And I will also make every effort that you may be able to recall these things at any time after my departure (2 Peter 1:13-15 HCSB)."

I don't know about you but in my routine I need regular reminders.

My computer space is littered with my daily agenda reminders.

Wall, desk and Smartphone calendars serve as reminders of places to go and appointments to keep. Bible reminders that we read and heed are far more important. Peter was persistent. He sensed the urgency and the brevity of time he had to share the gospel.

"Therefore, dear friends, since you know this in advance, be on your guard, so that you are not led away by the error of lawless people and fall from your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen (2 Peter 3:17-18 HCSB)."
