The Afterward of My Choice
by Linda Jackson

Senseless and ignorant, yes I am
So I think of the afterward
For when You discipline I have no joy, just sorrow
I long for the afterward
I have struggled, I have learned
Afterward peaceful fruit
Like an animal that doesn't leave her Master's side
Thinking of the afterward
You hold tightly to my right hand
The perfect afterward coming soon
My choice of Your counsel as You guide me
Waiting for afterward when You receive me into glory
Yes heaven my afterward
Ps 73:22-24; Heb 12:11
