Faith to Finale
by PamFord Davis

Death and deceased; we cringe at the two words. Yet, death is as natural as birth. As a baby boomer, I am frequently grieving the loss of old friends. As a Christ follower, I celebrate the lives of those who were in the family of God. He takes their deaths seriously.

“Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, ‘Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’

‘Yes,’ says the Spirit, ‘that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them (Revelation 14:13 NKJV).”

For many, life begins in a hospital delivery room. The eternal life of believers was birthed in heaven's throne room of God. The LORD is present from start to finish.

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV).”

Amen.
