Nail it Down
by PamFord Davis

Nail it down.

Know what you believe and why you believe it.

How would you define eternal life?

“Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: ‘Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.  And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent (John 17:1-3 NKJV).”

Martha believed Jesus’ promises.

“Jesus said to her, ‘Your brother will rise again.’

Martha said to Him, ‘I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?’

She said to Him, ‘Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world (John 11:23-27 NKJV).”

Eternal life is found in a personal relationship with Jesus. Nail it down.

“And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life (1 John 5:11-12 NKJV).”
