CREATION PUPPET SKIT
by Stephen Kimball

(Open with Alex and Justin looking up to the night sky. In awe and wonder Alex says:)

Alex:    I feel so small…have you ever wondered how it all got there?

Justin:   In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

And the earth was without form, covered in water…

              We don’t have to wonder.

In the Bible, God has told us exactly how it all got there.

Alex:  Really! How come nobody’s ever told me that before?

Justin: On the first day – God said, “Let there be light…” and there was light!

And He separated the day and the night.

Alex: So you mean God created the Sun?

Justin: Not yet actually. He doesn’t do that for 3 more days.

Alex: So how did He make the light?

Justin: Well…He just spoke it into existence.

It’s like He turned on the light switch, until the Sun got warmed up.

Alex: Hmmmm

Justin: But He was just getting started.

On day 2, God created our atmosphere.

Alex: What did He do that for?

Justin: So we could breath!.... Silly.

Alex: (excitedly) What did He do next?

Justin: I’m glad you asked.

The next day God separated the waters from the dry land – and the

             earth took form.

Alex: WOWwww! You mean that’s when He created the oceans….

          and the mountains?

Justin: Yep…That’s what the Bible says!

Alex: (excitedly) What next, what next?

           WAIT!!!....HE MADE PEOPLE!!!

Justin: No. He doesn’t do that for 3 more days.

On the 3rd day He made the grass and the trees – fruits and vegitables.

Alex: Like broccoli?...I wish He hadn’t thought of that!

Justin: Check this out:

On the 4th day God placed the Sun, moon and stars in the sky.

Alex: How did He do that in one day!?...Is that possible???

Justin: According to the Bible….Sun…..moon….stars….1 day.

I don’t know how He did it but when I get to heaven I am sure gonna

            ask him.

Alex: What’s next? How does He top that?

Justin: On day 5, God made all the birds of the earth and all the sea creatures.

Alex: I saw a weird looking crab once in a fish tank, did He make that?

Justin: yes.

Alex: How about sharks – with those giant scary looking teeth?

          Did He make those?

Justin: uh-huh.

Alex: HOW ABOUT SEA MONSTERS?!

Justin: According to the Bible – yes, even sea monsters.

Alex: That’s crazy awesome dude – you are ab-so-lut-ely blowing my mind!

Justin: Finally, on the 6th day God populates the earth with all the animals.

(Alex and Justin are joined by their friend Nick)

Nick: Hey guys, whatcha doin’?

Alex: Justin was just telling me all about how God created the world

          and everything in it!

Let’s see:  First, He formed the earth,

Then He turned on the lights,

Then He made our atmosphere……..So we could breath.

Then, He formed the oceans and the land,

Then He made trees and BROCOLLI! (disgusted)

Then He put up the Sun, moon and stars

And then He made all the animals!

Nick: He sure did, and most importantly, He made people!

Alex:  YOU KNOW THIS STORY?!?

Nick: Yes, of course I do.

The Bible says God created man in His own image and gave him

dominion over the whole earth and everything in it.

Alex: Umph….”dominion”…sounds like trouble.

Is that it? I mean, there are 7 days in a week – right? What’s He do next?

Justin: He rested.

Alex: Sounds like a well deserved break…..

 (everyone laughs)

Alex: Anyone like to come in for a snack?

(everyone agrees and as they begin to disappear below the line of sight

Alex poses a last ditch gotcha question…)

Alex: KILLER WHALES!

Nick and Justin: (in unison) YES!!!

Nick: ……Jinx, you owe me a coke!

Justin: dang it.
