Talking With My Mouth Full
by PamFord Davis

Proper table etiquette lessons started early...

'Pam, don't rest your elbow on the table.'

Not a suggestion, instead a command...

'Don't talk with your mouth full!'

I must admit talking with one's mouth full of food is pretty gross.

It's hard to look eye-to-eye with a speaker as my attention focuses on food protruding from the recesses of their mouth. As a side note, my comprehension of what is being said by the poor mannered speaker is limited.

When speaking to, of or for the LORD, talking with my mouth full is advantageous.

"Let Your mercies come also to me, O Lord—
Your salvation according to Your word.
So shall I have an answer for him who reproaches me,
For I trust in Your word.
And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth,
For I have hoped in Your ordinances (Psalm 119:41-43 NKJV)."

Truth and testimony … LORD, fill my heart and mouth.

"I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings,
And will not be ashamed (Psalm 119:46 NKJV)."
