Awareness & Cooperation
by Steve Countryman

It is sad when I take things for granted, when I take God and His blessings for granted. Put that together with forgetting those things that a Christian should do daily like showing God’s love to others and not complaining and you have a real mess. Awareness becomes more important when you’re faced with uncertainty and confusion. Those two items will cause you to worry, doubt and fear. Those are the things that weaken your faith, trust and walk with Father God.

It is a dangerous thing to take your God for granted. To abuse your relationship with your heavenly Father. Next thing to suffer is ungratefulness and neglect. You expect that since God has been blessing you so often that you neglect to acknowledge His wonderful blessings and goodness in your life. Assuming that God will just continue to pour out blessings on your life as you go about doing your own thing. You know those things that just don’t quite line-up with God’s Word.

Arrogance, pride and selfishness take over guiding your decisions. They will definitely get in the way of the Holy Spirit moving in your daily life. You start judging and comparing yourself to others. You try to qualify the time you spend “helping” others based on the way you see their needs not as God sees them. Awareness, discernment, mercy and tenderness have all but disappeared.

Now I also know that God blesses me when I don’t deserve it, when I haven’t been so thankful and full of gratitude. In fact His love is SO BIG that He blesses me in spite of me. When I see those things that He does I can’t help but become humble and still before my God!

Awareness of the Holy Spirit moving to you, in you, with you, for you and through you as you spend time studying His Word. He will reveal His truth through His Word as the Holy Spirit reveals Jesus to you. Awareness is found in the knowledge and wisdom you gain as you spend time with your God. Awareness is knowing who you are in Christ Jesus and who Christ Jesus is in you! You find that you are less tolerant of sinful and questionable things that come up. Taking a stand against those things that are standing against you!

But cooperation is required. Cooperation is putting your faith in action. Cooperation is found in your obedience. Cooperation boosts faith, trust and assurance. Just like a good recipe is only as good as the ingredients that go into it, forget one thing and the results can be disastrous. Cooperation, obedience and follow through all tie well together when you are in God’s perfect will.

You will be amazed how much God can do through you as you raise your level of cooperation. “I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me”, I WILL DO ALL things through Christ who strengthens me, I DO ALL things through Christ who strengthens me!
