THY WILL BE DONE
by Lewis E. Thomas

THY WILL BE DONE

Jesus gave us an example of how we are to pray!
So, what does Matthew 6:10 have to say?

"Thy kingdom come. "Thy will" be done in earth, as it is in heaven."
But we have altered what it says within our hearts with fleshly leaven!

When we pray "we seldom" end our prayer with "THY WILL BE DONE"!
We are more concerned with "our wishes" than those of God's Holy Son!

God has greater ideas of how to answer the prayers we ask!
He knows best how to handle our task!

Many times our prayers are answered with a silent unspoken "No"!
Because if God always said "Yes" we would "never" spiritually grow!

We get upset with Almighty God and throw a childish fit!
We throw in the towel, leave our Church and quit!

Romans 8:28 is written for all of us to see!
God "always" does what's "BEST" for you and me!

When we face a GREAT MOUNTAIN rising ever so high!
We ask God to move it so we won't have to suffer and cry!

We should ask for Grace and Strength to climb that mountain and reach its peak!
"Thy will be done oh God is what we should always seek!"

King Solomon said that through sorrow the heart is made better!
We grow stronger as our tears get wetter!

God "knows how it hurts" when we cry!
He hurt too when He watched His only Son suffer and die!

He hurts when He sees us "give up the fight"!
It brakes His heart when we walk away from His Light!

Let us end every prayer with the words, "Thy will be done"!
Let's finish this "Heavenly Race" that we run!
