ROADSIDE MESSENGERS
by Lewis E. Thomas ROADSIDE MESSENGERS I was driving home today with the sun shinning bright!
Then something "caught my eye" standing in plain sight.
MASSIVE, metal power poles standing majestic and tall!
"MIGHTY MESSENGERS" with a message to us all!
The Mighty poles were capped on the top with a polished and pointed shield!
The points "gleamed in the sunlight" with a message to reveal!
They "pointed proudly" to the Great Creator beyond the sky!
A truth came to me that I could not deny!
"I had passed by such poles all my life!"
But "today" God showed me their message and it cut like a knife!
"Every day" they point to Jesus and God above!
They stand strong and firm with a message of love!
They point to the location of God's Great White Throne!
Where every one of us will stand to be judged alone!
They point to that Golden City in Heaven far beyond space!
They point to that great source of AMAZING GRACE!
They were flanked by their smaller power pole cousins made of wood!
Holding up The Cross near the top where they proudly stood!
Proclaiming the gospel with the symbol of the Cross!
The "only hope" for a soul that is unsaved and lost!
They carry power and communication within their lines!
Showing us we can "connect" to Heaven via the Cross and reach the Devine!
ROADSIDE MESSENGERS pointing to Jesus's Cross and that narrow way!
"Unseen messengers" that we pass by "every single day"!
