Trying Times
by PamFord Davis

When a dog is ‘man’s best friend’ he is loyal and obedient to the master. If the call to ‘stay’ is given, the dog remains still. He stays at rest.

“You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You (Isaiah 26:3 NKJV).”

Attention! Our Master is speaking.

“Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth (Psalm 46:10 NKJV).”

God speaks.

It is not a command by a tyrant.

The message reflects the character of the compassionate heavenly Father.

He knows our tendency to worry, how easily that we tense up in trying times.

As all knowing Father He says, “Be still.”

We receive confidence and comfort in knowing that the great I Am is God; that He is in control of our situations.

He will be exalted!

“Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
Let Your glory be above all the earth (Psalms 57:11 NKJV).”
