Don't Give Up!
by lareina morgan
You may be feeling like you have been going through a storm of issues and problems for a long time, and I am telling you right now - don't give up! The enemy wants you to believe that the Lord has forgotten about you, and that you will never see the light of the day. God will never leave you or forsake you, so He is there going through all of this with you. Your question to God should not be, "Why me?", but your inquiry to Him should be, "Lord, what is the lesson that I need to learn, could you show me what you want to see in myself through these circumstances?" It could be a stretching time that the Lord has designed just for you, to build your character and your faith. I do not know why the Lord is bringing you through this, but I know that He has a plan, and that everything that you are going through is for your benefit and for His Glory! It is never easy to surrender your own wants and desires to His will and then to follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit when He calls you from your heart, but you have made a committment to the Lord, and your desires should be focused on what He wants for your life instead of your own. What He has for you is many times better than what we want for ourselves. Take care to listen to those sweet whispers of our Lord, for He knows better than we ever could about the path that we must walk to be successful in our lives. Now, go forward upon the road of your destiny knowing that everything that you are experiencing, every little thing that you go through the Lord sees and He is writing the record of your big and small victories as a memorial, to celebrate with you when this life is over and to show you how much you accomplished over the years. We don't really know the impact we have on other people and on ourselves, because we are so focused on trying to win, fighting the 'good' fight with our own efforts, and many times we feel as if we have not had any victories. Our power and authority does not come from within but from our faith and trust in Jesus Christ. When He comes to live in our hearts, we are gifted with peace and joy, we can enter into His rest, but we must be willing to do so. Too many christians are living the 'good' life without His power because they are unaware that they should be living their lives in Him; that is why they feel so defeated most of the time.
