READ OF ALL MEN
by Lewis E. Thomas

Is your life a "holy" testimony read of all men?
Is your life corrupt and laden down with sin?

Are you Christ-like in "everything" you say and do?
Or are you "severely lacking" a spiritual thing or two?

Are you striving "with all your heart" to be like unto the Lord?
Or are you giving sin "more of you" than you can afford?

When your in another's presence "can they feel" the Holy Spirit within you?
Or can they sense that you still have some "Sin" on your daily menu?

When you are "read by others" do they feel lifted up by grace?
Do they see the eyes of Jesus as they look upon "your" face?

Do they see concern for their welfare and their soul within?
Does your "demeanor" cause them to want to be your friend?

Do they feel "the love of God" when they stand near your side?
Or do they feel "selfishness and greed" and a heart filled with pride?

When others "read you" what kind of lesson do they learn?
Will that lesson lead them to Heaven or to that place that "eternally burns"?

Someone is "reading you today" as you do your thing!
Will the book they are reading point them to The King of Kings?

We are "all an open book" read by all men!
When we are read are they reading about Jesus or about a life of sin?

Look at your self today and read the words your "life" has written down!
Would those words make The Lord smile on you or cause Him to grieve and frown?

When you step into eternity after your last and "final" breath.
Will you have written a "Book of Life" or a "Book of Death"?
