Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;” This passage points out several unique qualities of the Lord Jesus Christ. First of all, if we have asked Jesus to live in our hearts and forgive our sins, we have been translated into the kingdom of Jesus Christ. By Him, the Scripture says, everything in heaven and earth, visible and invisible, was created. You might say, “If something isn’t visible, it doesn’t exist.” What about the wind? We can’t see the wind, but we can most certainly see the way it blows tree branches around like graceful or not so graceful ballet dancers. We can’t see germs and bacteria, but they can greatly influence and impact our daily lives by making us sick. And what about thoughts? All of us think these creatures every single day. Our thoughts should be dedicated to and focused on the one who gives life to us. Every person and all things, according to the Scripture, were not only created for Him, but by Him. And man has such a great responsibility to praise Him, because we are told back in the book of Genesis that God created man in His own image. Another thing about Jesus is, that through His blood, we have redemption from sin. Jesus is the head of the Church, His Body. All fullness, we are told, dwells in Him. Jesus, God’s Son, came to earth from heaven to go to the Cross and die for a world full of sinners like you and me. Thank God for such amazing grace. Thank God for such awesome love. Today, let us take just a moment and thank Jesus for all He’s done for us and worship His holy name. Because no matter what we do for Him and regardless of how much we do for Him, we will never be able to repay His love for us.
