Pray... Pray... Pray!
by Fenny West

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples John 15:7,9 NIV.

What a powerful promise for the prayer warrior. 'Whatever you wish ' is available to you and I.
Notice that there are conditions attached to it:
1. If you remain in me
2. my words remain in you

A promise out of context is a pretext.

It is not enough to have once professed or confessed the name of Jesus He must remain Lord of your life for this promise or divine check to be cashed in the bank of heaven. We are told that if He is not Lord of all He is not Lord at all.

Secondly, His words have to remain in you. There are two ways in which His words can remain in you either in your head or in your heart. Head knowledge is fleeting, superficial, puffs up, academic. But heart knowledge is the real deal. It is more permanent, controls your actions- what you do or say.

Remaining in Christ and allowing His word to remain in us has a purpose:
That is the way we demonstrate that we are the followers (disciples) of Jesus
The acronym of disciple is:
Devoted, Disciplined Acts2:42-47,- 4:19,
informed, intimate Act7, -4:13
sold-out Acts 2:41-47,Luke10:38-40
committed, conformed to the Lord John10:4,14
in-filled Acts2:4,-6:3,-7:55, -8:17,-10:44
productive ( Gal5:22-23, Ephe2:10)
Learner (2Tim2:15)
empowered (Acts4:6-8, 5:15, Luke10:19)
sound in the word (Col.3:16, Ps1:1-3)

So let the Lord remain in you and let His Word makes its home in you richly, in all its richness- not just in your head but in your heart; memorize it; meditate on it; confess it, sing it, apply it daily and then pray it fervently and tremendous power will be available to you . God will do exceeding abundantly far beyond your wildest dreams. (James 5:16-17, Ephe.1:19-20, -3:20)
