GOD GAVE ME A GIFT
by Lewis E. Thomas GOD GAVE ME A GIFT God gave me the gift of poetry to bring glory to His name!
Since that day he saved me I have never been the same!
If I am not writing for His glory I feel like something is amiss!
Then I kneel in prayer and pray, "Lord, what is causing this?
When I retired in April 2014 and walked out the door.
Six months passed by without me writing any more!
I got down on my knees and sought the Lord for the reason!
"Lord, why am I going through this dry spell and this desert season?"
"Lord, please send your words to me once again!"
"Please forgive me if I've grieved you with my sin!"
The next day or so God gave me three new poems back to back!
The first one titled "When My Well Ran Dry" and that is a fact.
The next day I dropped my wife at work and went to drive away...
I turned my radio on and these are the words I heard a singer say!
"Like a tree planted by the river our well will never run dry!"
"And as I drove away I began to cry!"
I felt the Masters Power flood my soul!
"And His awesome presence is worth more than all the world's gold!"
