Chittenango Falls
by PamFord Davis

How do I decide on a theme for a devotion message?

Sometimes an experience brings to my mind a relevant scripture passage. Most often, a Bible verse or passage triggers thoughts for a particular devotion. After writing devotions about family and friends I often get encouraging comments. My memories seem to rekindle memories of others. We are more alike than we might think. Today, I write about one of my favorite sites back home in Central New York State.

I wish you could see Chittenango Falls for yourself. The sight and sound of its rushing waters is truly magnificent. The Creator is to be praised!

“A voice came from the throne, saying:

Praise our God,
all His slaves, who fear Him,
both small and great!

Then I heard something like the voice of a vast multitude, like the sound of cascading waters, and like the rumbling of loud thunder, saying:

Hallelujah, because our Lord God, the Almighty,
has begun to reign!
Let us be glad, rejoice, and give Him glory,
because the marriage of the Lamb has come,
and His wife has prepared herself.
She was given fine linen to wear, bright and pure.

For the fine linen represents the righteous acts of the saints.

Then he said to me, ‘Write: Those invited to the marriage feast of the Lamb are fortunate!’ He also said to me, ‘These words of God are true (Revelation 19:5-9 HCSB).”
