Escape

Planning a dream vacation at a 5 Star Resort?

My husband and I lived in a Florida Panhandle RV park for over 10 years. Vacationers called it a Resort; we simply called it home.

People once went camping to get away from it all. Today, most campers take it with them. RV’s have all the benefits of home. If not, vacationers expect everything to be turn-key ready upon arrival at their destination. Admittedly, we are part of a fast paced society. An escape to a resort might be just what the doctor ordered.

Resort experiences are enjoyable. I’d rather escape to the refuge of my Redeemer.

“In You, O Lord, I put my trust;
Let me never be put to shame.
Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape;
Incline Your ear to me, and save me.
Be my strong refuge,
To which I may resort continually;
You have given the commandment to save me,
For You are my rock and my fortress (Psalm 71:1-3 NKJV).”

When troubled or tired, I can turn to God.

No, He is not my ‘last resort;’ He’s my refuge!

“God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah (Psalm 46:1-3 NKJV).”
