Stop Being Pushed Around
by Steve Countryman

Your daily walk can be frustrating at times. Especially when the evil one keeps throwing temptation at you. Romans 7:18-20 18 “For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.”

It’s like you’re standing there wanting to make righteous decisions, to do the right things, all the while a smaller man keeps pushing you backwards. Every time he pushes you he does it with another temptation. You’re standing near the opening of a pit of sin that has slippery sloped sides. If you stand to close to the edge you can quickly loose your footing and end up in that pit of sin.

One thing you have to ask yourself is first how is it you came to be so close to that pit? Wasn’t it because you listened too closely to the tempting lies whispered to you that dragged you to the edge? Now you have become an easy target for Satan to push you around. Treating you as a stupid fool, an idiot who allows him to get away with all of that temptation pushing. Now he is pushing you around where you do not want to go!

You have failed to stand your ground in a righteous manner. You have fallen victim to the lies and deception of the evil one. Falling into the pit of sin He quickly changes his attacks from temptation to accusation. Accusing you of being a sorry excuse for a Christian. How unworthy and unloved you are. That you can’t fight those sinful ways so why not give in and give up? But that is not who you are. Everything Satan says is lies for he is the “father of lies”.

God didn’t choose you before time began for this place and time to be a failure, a stupid fool or an idiot. I have to tell myself… I am not a fool though I have done foolish sinful things. I am not stupid though I have done stupid sinful things. I am not an idiot though I have done idiotic sinful things. All of which means that I am not a victim for my victory is found is Jesus Christ my Lord! For He is made strong in ALL of my weaknesses!

Start declaring who you are in Christ Jesus! “I am the head not the tail. I am above only and not beneath. I am more than a survivor, more than an overcomer for you Father God have made me more than a conquer. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I WILL DO ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens me. I DO ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens me!”

It is when you realize who you are in Christ that scares Satan because he knows that you have ALL POWER OVER THE EVIL ONE! He can only harm you if you let him otherwise he has NO POWER! Stop allowing Satan to push you around! You are a child of the Most High God now act like it!!
