REMEMBERED AFTER SEVEN YEARS!
by Michael McBuba

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven; He has made every thing beautiful in His time... " (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11).

Indeed, no other passage of Scripture best sums up for us what our Heavenly Father did for my family and I when on the 21st day of May, 2007, at precisely 07:25 AM, He granted my wife (Christie) safe and sound delivery of a beautiful Baby Girl who weighed 2.9 kilograms at birth!

What most people who know us just fairly well may probably not realise is that it has been a very long wait of seven full years before this glorious miracle - a harrowing period during which we went through a series of rigorous and expensive medical check-ups and treatments all to no avail; a trying period through which we endured the usual 'monthly disappointments'; an agonising period during which our faith in God was greatly put to the test - to ascertain whether we were going to hold on to His irrevocable and immutable promises or whether we were going to be swayed in order to stray towards other myriad diabolical and ungodly sources; and a vexatious and tempestuous period during which we were made to put up with the anti-social antagonisms and criticisms of the Peninnahs of this world, as well as the regular barrages of assaults and insults from the inmates of the nether regions of darkness and their earthly accomplices.

But all throughout this period, the Good Lord in His characteristic faithfulness continually kept and upheld us; always strengthening our faith in Him by constantly bringing the promises of His word to our remembrance. And all through this period, my wife and I remained supportive and loving towards one another. We never had any occasion to antagonise ourselves or to lose faith in God, because all along, we had this cork-sure certainty that no matter how long it might take, we would still definitely give birth to our own biological children!

Then in August of 2004, the Lord visited us and granted my wife conception, but that pregnancy was miscarried in early December of that same year. It was agonizingly painful and traumatic for us, and we really wept our hearts out like any other expectant parents would. At the end of the mourning period, we took solace and comfort in the specific promise which God made to my wife on her hospital bed: "...affliction shall not rise up the second time," (Nahum 1:9b), and we kept on praying and believing for more of His divine visitations.

However, another two whole years of fruitless waiting followed that sad incident! It was quite pathetic and saddening, but there was no cause to give up our faith in God. Shortly after the end of the first two years of endless waiting without any positive results, my wife decided to embark on a week-long period of dry fasting and praying, accompanied by daily night vigils. To the glory of our Almighty Father, by the end of that same month, we discovered that God had miraculously visited us again! Hallelujah!

Today, we are celebrating God's faithfulness towards us, and we are very bold to declare that no native nor orthodox doctor, or a religious cleric can take the credit for this miracle! All the glory goes back squarely, solely and singularly to God alone!

By way of a postscript, it is noteworthy to mention that all throughout the period of the pregnancy, my wife was very strong, vibrant and healthy to the glory of God Almighty!

In conclusion, we gratefully and joyfully dedicate our precious treasure: Madeleine-Nkemdirim-OluwaPelumi-OluomaChukwu-Yvonne-EbereChukwuBaruba-IyinOluwa-EbunOluwa-McBuba back to God, in order for ALL of His Counsel, Covenants, Plans and Purposes concerning her life and mission here on Earth to be perfectly fulfilled in the Name of Jesus Christ! Amen.
