CALL
by Linda Jackson

Lord, Your Word speaks of eternity past

Angels created, called and came forth

Summoned to worship You, Lord of Lords

Then one of beauty and pride

Called for any to revolt and stand by his side

Many did, do they not have a heart such as mine?

Deep down inside did they not hear Your voice of love?

Do they at times cry wanting to return to their life above?

Yours, the only creative voice calls

The void quakes, a universe has begun

You commanded one planet, one moon one sun

In one exact place

You spoke light and life

Preparing for the human race

How many gentle calls came from You

to walk in the cool garden with man

A warm answer from his heart

Yearning to walk hand in hand

Yet there were eyes that watched

Evil that would lurk and wait

Wanting man, the love of Your heart

To take the bait

His call to walk another course

An enticing word from a dark source

Did heaven and earth tremble?

Did the angels below and above

Sense how hate can ruin love?

Another fall, this the choice of the first two

Then came Your loving call

"Where are you"?

Here the dark pit in all hearts would begin to form

I fell into mine the day I was born

Lord Your sweet voice above

Whispers for me to rise

You know where my heart is

Do I?

A garden of peace and joy was closed

You called for a guard to be set

A darkness rose

All nature knew something evil had laid claim

Animals killed to feed and clothe

Women bore children through much pain

Envy brings murder

A cry goes out as the first blood of life seeps into the ground

The very dust You used to shape Your friend

Became cursed until You come again

Then a change, Lord You have Your plan

Another son is born, ready to stand bold in the land

Through the faithfulness of one

Men began to cry to You

You still call

The answers so few

As I sought You more and more

I heard deep inside

You pointing me to a new door

Even now as I listen I know You care

At times a walk in a cool garden

Your love we share

"Here I am"

Answered by many in ages past

You call, inviting from Your heart

A healing request, to make a new start

"Here I am"

Three words changed my world

"Here I am"

Send me, I knew not when or where

You say, trust Me, the I AM will be there

At times the enemy takes me into a valley of doubt

Dark fog covers my mind

Steeps cliffs, hard to climb

In love You step down to the top of this canyon I'm in

You call me to come up

I must decide, will I or not

Your Spirit of wisdom and knowledge

Helps me to see Your plan

You will be with me as with thousands before

The fog is lifted, the way made clear

The haze is gone, there is no fear

Lord, You called Moses, saying

"Speak to the sons"

Even today I'm to do the same

To speak to those around me

Sharing Your Name

A nation, a people that honors You

Will have to stand and fight for Truth

Life or death You give as a choice

May I and my loved ones hear only Your voice

May we recognize Your call, not the one who lies

Never to be confused by the sweet words he tries

"Speak Lord, Your servant is listening"

Spoken ages ago by my brother in You

Help me to humbly say

"Speak, I'm listneing too"

Often I call, lifting You in praise

Singing in joy as my hands are raised

You wait, You listen, while the Holy Spirit helps me pray

The fallen god of this world wants me to call on him

He hate my love for You, my King

He promises and lures with wants not needs

His goal for me is to suffer what this loss would bring

He calls and distracts by seemingly harmless ways

Such a desire the enemy has for my pariae

Thank You Lord for th Fire of Truth

Help me to hear Your Spirit

Then his lies will burn

A fire to refine my heart, not to death

A blaze to remember as I face the next test

When I call on You, waiting to know

Your answer may not be my desire

But it's obedience I need to show

If I turn my back, in pride, on Your answer to me

If I think the "water is to dirty" to touch

the "disease" I carry will cost me much

Sometimes Your silence weighs on my mind

I call and call, an answer I don't hear

Help me to wait in peace, not fear

I keep calling

Am I ready to listen to what Your Spirit might say

In the past I heard Your voice

Am I ready for more

Will I make the right choice

I delight in some thoughts of the past

Memories that many would not understand

Not dreams, but words from You that will forever last

But I must move forward, remembering Your voice

Moving to fight an unseen battle

Your written Word has set my course

Wicked hearts don't call on You

Your Name they won't speak

Their god doesn't want to be exposed

As one defeated and weak

You so desire for them to hear one word of light

They cover their ears

They have heard

And continually they reject Your Word

I've seen them face to face

My hope, they won't fall into a darker place

So many Truths from You I have read

The most imprtant simply put

You cry out, love Me, first of all

Your children's true love You had before their great fall

My heart realizes my mouth needs to say

More and More

I love You Lord

I often think of who You are to me

My Strength, supporting my heavy load

My Deliverer from the enemies hold

My Rock, on which my Fortress will never move

My Shield, I lift in faith is true

My Salvation, as I lie, covered in blood at Your feet

Your love for me perfect and complete

You lift me

I stand in Your might

A spiritual horn is blown, I'm called to see

How True love reveals true hate

How hate flees as love creates

"The Day of Trouble"

I have read about in Your Word

Knowing this is true

One day You will call all nations to recognize You

You will on their day of trouble

Force them to bended knee

How Your heart must hurt

Hearing their screams as from this world they leave

My present days of trouble

Satan tries to rule

Often I call on You as I face his truth

Lord I ask You to clear my mind

The sins I once walked in have left remains

Scenes of my old thoughts haunt my life

On the film of my past

Let Your light bleach it white

Revive me Lord, so I'm not overcome

Lifting my sword as many before me have done

How many calls You must hear

Those in the past, now, and yet to come

I realize, as with Moses, Aaron and Samuel

Who cried out in tears

You answered them and You answer me

As You will answer future heart felt pleas

As my hands are raised

My voice to honor will rise

I love You Lord, because You saved my life

Saved from a hell that burns

And a rejection that breeds hate

This the experiences of some, when their time to turn is to late

I know I'm free from a demon's burning hand

And the stench of a desolate land

Call and be glad You say

So with joy I call on Wisdom

For Wisdom is one of Your Names

Wisdom calls, I know His voice

the evil one is also wise or so he claims

His knowledge before You falls away

Lord You speak of precious jewels on my head

Jewels that sparkle and shine with light from You

May they show Your path to the walking dead

What right have I, born evil, to be such adorned

With righteousness, knowledge, wisdom

Pure from above

I was bought by the "Precious One"

My jewels paid for by Your blood called love

Immanuel, God You are with me

As a achild I called out

"I want to be with You when I die"

You answered yes, as into the isle I took my first step

I read later how the angels had expressed great joy

One day I hope to hear them, when the sky is split

Thousands upon thousnads have answered Your call

Oh how joyous the sound must be

But when those who turn their backs and say "no"

Is there a rippling sound of great "woe"?

Lost souls party, eat and drink

Over and over again

When they die, there is no more

Or so they think

As they breath their last

They begin to hear

As Truth opens their ears to cries of pain

Fearful, as their mouths utter the same

You have placed Your sorrow in my heart

Sorrow for those who die without You

I mourn for them, knowing satan has played his part

But You the Holy One have called me to fight

To stand in Love, holding back the night

You whisper, reach out and touch

Unlovely, broken lives

A righteous anger I have against evil lies

I've seen the destruction of lives gripped by sin

In faith and love, I call You in

I command claws to release

Fragile pots of clay

My desire to break the evil formed in hearts

But first I must seek my mind to be clean

No dark corner of self

If I'm harboring sin my armor will be weak

My sins forgiven

In You Name I'm ready to speak

You have called me, Your servant I am

You watch over me, holding my hand

I've been appointed to receive and reflect

The Light of Your eyes in mine

To those who don't know You yet

The knowledge of a redeemer is foreign to them

Working for their god is the prison they're in

You my Creator and theirs I know

They need to accept, be taught

In order to grow

Hearing You whisper "you are Mine"

The voice of You, my King, can also be bold

Sometimes into my mind creeps a prideful thought

Your glory will always knock down my foes

In their tangled web I must not get caught

I'm one so small

Knowing

You speak and the planets move or stay

The whole universe has heard Your call

Waves crash, the sun lights the day

You have created all and more

You focus love on this small planet in space

Where humans walk, damaged and torn

I'm one so small

Covered with Your grace

I'm one so small

Called to direct any to why they were born

Trying to show You through this life of mine

I'm one so small

Created for this time

Lord help me not to break Your heart

As a husband hurts when his wife departs

Your sorrow is compared to this

When I Your child remain in sin

At times You discipline me

My attention You seek

For You know the danger

Of what the enemy sees

At one time I played games

Constantly in and out of sin

You put up with my rebellion

Then You lovingly called and broke me

Changes were to begin

You spoke, I'm to clean my mind and tongue

My speech reveals to others if change has begun

The overwhelming grief that must weigh on Your heart

How merciful You are to help me make a new start

Thankfully

I called out

While You could be found

While You were still near

Many will not call

Their eternity full of pain and tears

"Because"

Lord You said to them:

You weren't ignorant

In your hearts you knew

I called and you didn't answer

I spoke, you wouldn't listen

In My sight your evil grew

As Adam and Eve you believed the liar's call

You put faith in a hopeless view of "self"

this the cause of your fall

Your end will be in hell

To late for answered calls

"Because"

Lord You said to me:

You weren't ignorant

Your heart knew

I called and you answered

I spoke and you listened

You asked Me in, the door opened wide

I forgave your sin

You no longer needed to hide

Your god of "self"

Must not answer as demons call

This fight will one day end

Rejoicing in a place I have named heaven

But for now you rejoice on spoiled ground

Knowing My love will forever surround

Your call will continue

Until earths time is done

I Your servant have beheld

The work of Your hand

I have looked into the eyes

Of those who have tripped and fell

I've seenYou pick them up

Giving them a reason to stand

This is why I believe

I'm left here at this time

To share the love of Your heart

Which has been poured into mine
