Along the Way
by PamFord Davis

You never know who you might meet along the way…

Maybe an old friend from years past crosses your path. That’s precisely what happened to me in 1969. While seated in a crowded seating area of JFK Airport, I spotted someone I hadn’t seen since my school days. To my surprise, he also recognized me.

I wonder; can we recognize angels?

“So Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him. When Jacob saw them, he said, ‘This is God’s camp.’ And he called the name of that place Mahanaim (Genesis 32:1-2 NKJV).”

While I am unable to see the heavenly host, I acknowledge their mission and presence.

“The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him,
And delivers them (Psalm 34:7 NKJV).”

All around us, through the years and along the way…

“Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven (Matthew 18:10 NKJV).”

Though I may be unaware, I might meet angels. It could be here, there or anywhere.

“Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels (Hebrews 13:2 NKJV).”
