Loves Parched Flow
by Linda Jackson

The vine dries up

Souls feel the slight thought that corrupts

And the fig tree fails

Relationships falter, going down their own trail

They all dry up, the pomegranate, palm and apple tree

Children cry, no sweetness, no interest, no good end is seen

Rejoicing dries up from the sons of men

Like wine in a cracked cup, for those who choose sin
