Bodily Harm
by PamFord Davis

President Donald Trump draws big crowds; in most instances, he draws a mixed crowd. Most in the crowd respect him for the office he holds; yet, the multitude includes those who loathe him. They have no respect for his authority, the man or his presidency.

Extremists may try to get lost in the crowd; they intend to cause bodily harm to the president. He may become a target for assassination. Secret Service agents are well trained; they painstakingly guard the president against assassination attempts.

There was an attempt to kill Christ Jesus before His crucifixion.

“So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, and rose up and thrust Him out of the city; and they led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw Him down over the cliff.  Then passing through the midst of them, He went His way (Luke 4:28-30 NKJV).”

Jesus could have easily been crushed in a crowd, even in a crowd of worshipers.

“And a great multitude from Galilee followed Him, and from Judea and Jerusalem and Idumea and beyond the Jordan; and those from Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they heard how many things He was doing, came to Him. So He told His disciples that a small boat should be kept ready for Him because of the multitude, lest they should crush Him.  For He healed many, so that as many as had afflictions pressed about Him to touch Him (Mark 3:7b-10 NKJV).”
