Barriers
by PamFord Davis

Learning of an inexpensive outdoor television antenna, we cancelled satellite TV service. It was a good way to cut our monthly expenses.

The manufacturer of the antenna claims a range of 150 miles. Living in a rural area that was the primary selling point that led to our decision. A word of warning, the positioning of the antenna and pole is very important.

You won’t want trees or buildings to block incoming television station signals.

Spiritually, I want to remove any barriers between me and the LORD. When praying, I want a clear line of communication.

“Indeed, the Lord’s hand is not too short to save,
and His ear is not too deaf to hear.
But your iniquities have built barriers
between you and your God,
and your sins have made Him hide His face from you
so that He does not listen (Isaiah 59:1-2 HCSB).”

He is a holy God. I need a clean heart…

“God, create a clean heart for me
and renew a steadfast spirit within me (Psalm 51:10 HCSB).”

Jesus gave us the model for prayer…

“Therefore, you should pray like this:

Our Father in heaven,
Your name be honored as holy.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And do not bring us into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
[For Yours is the kingdom and the power
and the glory forever. Amen.](Matthew 6:9-13 HCSB).”
