Pillow Talk
by PamFord Davis

Anyone ever tell you that you talk in your sleep?

I don’t believe I do that much but my husband often does.

I eavesdrop on his pillow talk.

“When I think of You as I lie on my bed,
I meditate on You during the night watches (Psalm 63:6 HCSB).”

We are often wide awake in the stillness of the night.

“I am awake through each watch of the night
to meditate on Your promise (Psalm 119:148 HCSB).”

Don’t worry about waking God.

“Indeed, the Protector of Israel
does not slumber or sleep (Psalm 121:4 HCSB).”

He’s awake, you’re awake…

Begin pillow talk with a prayer of thanksgiving.

“I rise at midnight to thank You
for Your righteous judgments (Psalm 119:62 HCSB).”

We strengthen our faith through meditation and prayer.

Jesus left us His example.

“During those days He went out to the mountain to pray and spent all night in prayer to God (Luke 6:12 HCSB).”
