Roundabout
by PamFord Davis

Dad was not at fault.

He tried to prepare me for my driving road tests; I was just too tense when being tested. When practicing, I usually drove the back roads; yet, I vividly remember driving around Carrier Circle. Yikes! I rode as a passenger when visiting our daughter April and her family in the UK.

They introduced me to roundabouts…

I’m glad I wasn’t seated behind the steering wheel turning the vehicle roundabout the England circles.

The Israelites rebelled against God’s will; they refused to go in and possess the Promised Land. Turned back by God, they suffered the consequences.

“Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:

But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.

(Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwelt in the valley.) Tomorrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea (Numbers 14:23-25 KJV).”

Though close enough to enter Canaan, the children of Israel wandered roundabout in the desert wilderness for 40 years.
