THE NURSING HOME

THE NURSING HOME

Hallways and doorways filled with wheelchairs not a few!
Lonely faces looking/searching for any face that's new!

Forgotten family members reaping the effects of time!
Visits hoped for never coming, that is such a crime!

Minds with memories lost to old age and disease!
Many suffering with pain they hope someone will ease!

Waves of Hopes and Dreams crash on the Rocks of Age!
Needing a hand to hold as they turn life's final page!

Nursing Home staff all play a vital important roll...
In the lives of the Residents be they young or old!

Many times Residents need more than food or drugs!
They need kindness daily mixed with friendly hugs!

If you are a kind staff member God smiles down on you!
He has a reward in Heaven He is preparing just for you!

For those who "abuse" the Residents: "Woe Be Unto Your Souls!"
For God will never allow "you" to walk on Heaven's Streets of Gold!

As I end this rhyme I am reminded from above!
How Jesus on The Cross was God's greatest act of love!

As you serve as a staff member on that path you trod...
"SERVE OUT LOVE AND KINDNESS AND BE THE HANDS OF GOD!"

My precious mother Eunice D. Thomas entered a nursing home facility in January 2005 and died there in January of 2013.
There is widespread abuse in these type of facilities.
Owners and management are more concerned about their "bottom line" than true care and compassion for the Residents.
If you know someone in a nursing home for God's sake go visit them! Let them know "someone cares about them. If you don't know anyone, go anyway and let a total stranger know you care!

*Great will be your reward in Heaven!*
