To Give You Hope And A Future
by Steve Countryman

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

The more you understand spiritual strength, wisdom and understanding the more dangerous Christian you become to the kingdom of darkness.  It is knowing who you are in Christ and who Christ is in you!

As a born-again believer the Creator of ALL things lives in you.  He who stretched out the heavens, formed you in your mother’s womb and chose you before time began for this time and place lives in you.  The kingdom of heaven is not upon you but IN YOU 24/7/365!  That means that God has already given you hope and a future!

Knowing all that where is you hope found and what does your future look like?  Too often we struggle to see beyond our own needs and worldly pleasures.  If you look to man and earthly things to find your hope you will surely be disappointed.  That in turn will take your future and rob you of all hope.

I equate it to laying up your rewards in heaven.  The bible says that is what you should do instead of wasting all of your time and effort to gain your rewards here on earth.  I thought what would my rewards in heaven look like.  The streets of heaven are paved with gold, Heavens’ gates are made of pearls.  Jewels adorn walls as far as the eye can see.  Surely my rewards would be more valuable than all the silver and gold.  Diamonds and precious stones couldn’t compare.   What’s left that would qualify as my reward?

It finally dawned on me, my reward in heaven is Jesus!  To be in His presence, to see Him face to face, to touch Him and see His pierced body for me.  That would be more valuable than anything that I could ever dream of or be able to imagine!

Likewise, the best hope and future that I could ever dream to have is Jesus!  This world is not my home.  This world is full of sin, lies, deceit, hatred, deception and selfishness, none of which gives me hope and a future.  This world has nothing for me.  But the One who gives me hope and a future is the only One who I trust to take care of me regardless what this world is going through.  Is Jesus your hope and a future?
