It’s time to set my house in order.

No, company isn’t coming. I’ll be going to meet my maker.

“In those days Hezekiah became mortally ill. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him and said to him, ‘Thus says the Lord, ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.’ Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord,  and said, ‘Remember now, O Lord, I beseech You, how I have walked before You in truth and with a whole heart, and have done what is good in Your sight.’ And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

Then the word of the Lord came to Isaiah, saying, ‘Go and say to Hezekiah, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of your father David, ‘I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will add fifteen years to your life (Isaiah 38:1-5 NASB).”

God hasn’t given me a date of departure; yet, death is coming.

“And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,  so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him (Hebrews 9:27-28 NASB).”

If wise, I’ll number the days. 

“So teach us to number our days,
That we may present to You a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12 NASB).”
