Abundant Grace After Bad Decisions and Mistakes
by Tesse Wilson

After my mistakes, bad decisions, the losses and the consequences

In the midst of my pain

When my cries for human help is in vain

My heavenly father's unconditional love is the one thing that remains and is constant

Bad situations make me feel to despair

Doubt and fear wrestle with my faith

I pray no matter how I feel

I feel afraid yet I confess like David

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death

You are with me

Lord, I hold to those words- You are with me

Jesus, you said you will never leave me nor forsake me

You will never leave me comfortless

Comfort me sweet Holy Spirit, my comforter

Let me experience afresh the comforting love of the Father

This love that never diminishes

Though

Yes, I made another mistake, another bad decision

Yes, I am afraid of the consequences

Yes, I feel confused at times

Yes, sometimes I do not know what to do

I encourage myself with the truth that Jesus loves me

Why should I think, feel or say that I do not have a friend in this world?

When Jesus loves me

I must not listen to lies of my soul's enemy who is prowling around seeking to devour me

I must remove my eyes from the things around me and lift them up to the hills/heavens

Like the psalmist David, I say my help comes from the Lord

It seems like I always need the Father's help and his favor

Yes, I need my God, to breathe, to live and to prosper

I need thee, every hour I need this

Oh, bless me now my Savior

I come to thee

Grace and mercy in abundance is flowing to me

Even now you are strengthening me to face the consequences of poor judgment

Even now you are comforting me...

I hear you, Heavenly Father... I will ask you for wisdom
