Shame, Shame, Shame!

Shame, shame, shame!

Multitudes feel no shame; they flaunt their sins. God holds our spiritual leaders accountable; expecting them to set a good example, he holds them to a higher standard. Jeremiah reprimanded both priests and prophets. With false teaching, they talked of peace and failed to warn their people of God’s coming judgment.

“For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying Peace, peace; when there is no peace. Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the Lord (Jeremiah 8:11-12 KJV).”

Circumstances change; yet, the hearts of men are still wicked. Sadly, many spiritual leaders proclaim peace and prosperity. Neglecting God’s call to preach repentance, they try to please the masses. Thoughts to ponder…

Did Jesus’ messages please all the people? Consider Apostle Paul; he spoke the truth. Some believed; others rejected God’s word.

“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ (Galatians 1:10 KJV).”

What about me? Fearing rejection, I find security in my comfort zone. With His promises, I will do my best and share God's truth. He has warned us about false teachers.
