Prayer should be a priority, not a last resort.

“Is anyone among you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone cheerful? He should sing praises.  Is anyone among you sick? He should call for the elders of the church, and they should pray over him after anointing him with olive oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will restore him to health; if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The urgent request of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect (James 5:13-16 HCSB).”

Many request prayers when they have a special need. Family, friends and prayer warriors give prayer support and encouragement. 

Apostle Paul knew the importance of prayer.

“Now I appeal to you, brothers, through our Lord Jesus Christ and through the love of the Spirit, to join with me in fervent prayers to God on my behalf (Romans 15:30 HCSB).”

Prayers lead to thanksgiving.

“We have put our hope in Him that He will deliver us again while you join in helping us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gift that came to us through the prayers of many (2 Corinthians 10b-11 HCSB).”
