THE SIN OF CIRCUMVENTION!

THE SIN OF "CIRCUMVENTION"!

When I was young my Mom and Dad had laid out some rules to guide our way!
But, when they weren't looking sometimes me and my siblings did things "our" way!

Many times our parents later learned of our disobedience when they weren't around!
And a little trip to the old wood shed "so to speak" made us once again morally sound!

We thought we could do an "End Run" around Mom and Dad!
"And when we did it always made Mom and Dad sad!"

Many of us Christians do the same thing with our Heavenly Father, God!
This is good preaching though some might consider it uncool and odd!

We are OK when we use certain scripture verses to get "others" spiritually in line!
While we personally think we can do an "END RUN" around them time after time!

For instance the Bible says if we don't forgive others, God will not forgive us!
But we like to ignore that scripture at times and put it in the back of the bus!

We are quick to point out to others that they shouldn't hold a grudge!
But when it comes to our unforgiveness or grudges we often just will not budge!

Do we really think God is going to let us enter Heaven while we are DISOBEYING His Word!
Where do we get these selfish/foolish notions that are totally absurd!

Are you ignoring/avoiding scriptures that condemn your own actions and deeds?
If Jesus took a closer look at you would he be pleased?
